July 17, 2012, marks a very important event in the history of the Carrier Corporation. This is when it celebrates air conditioning invention by Willis Carrier on the same date in 1902. Prior to this discovery, people in the early 20th century had little opportunity to escape from summer’s heat. Often times, the inside temperature was even more oppressive than the conditions outside. A patent for air conditioning invention 110 years ago changed all that. When the air conditioner was originally patented, it was too expensive for the average home or business owner to afford. Over the course of the next decade, Willis Carrier himself created an assembly line in order to make the manufacturing process more efficient. As a result, thousands of people nationwide could afford the cost of installing a new window air conditioning unit in their homes or businesses. As the decades went by, window units were gradually replaced with central air conditioning. Today, the air conditioning invention can be found in almost 100 countries nationwide and in millions of homes, cars, businesses, mass transportation systems and more. As a factory authorized dealer for the Carrier Corporation, Senica Air Conditioning, Inc., Inc. of Crystal River, Florida is also excited about the anniversary. During our years of close association with Carrier, we have come to view the manufacturer as an industry leader in both longevity and innovation. Senica Air Conditioning, Inc., Inc. is also excited to see the many developments in recent years that have made the air conditioner even more valuable.
