Energy saving bills are of interest to both Spring Hill, FL residents who are interested in making energy efficient upgrades to their homes or buildings and HVAC companies. Here is what you need to know about two bills that were recently introduced into congress.  The first bill of interest is the Homes Act. The Homes Act is an interesting new program that could lead to generous tax incentives for home or business owners who choose to make energy saving upgrades to their homes or buildings. Home or building owners could receive anywhere from $2,000 to $8,000 in tax credits; the amount would depend on the level of energy savings achieved by the upgrades.  This bill places a significant emphasis on accountability for HVAC companies. HVAC companies that are interested in getting involved must meet specific guidelines, such as gaining Building Performance Institute, or BPI, certification, or becoming a member of the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). Homes or buildings that might be upgraded as a part of this program, should this legislation pass, will be inspected prior to any changes being made, and following any upgrades.  The other energy saving bill is called the Rural Energy Savings Program Act, or RESPA. This bill is of interest to rural residents. This program, if passed, would help rural residents, like farmers, make energy efficient improvements, by making low interest loans available. An energy audit, as well as a verification that upgrades were made following any improvements, would also be required as part of this program.  At Senica Air, we are aware of how important these types of bills are. Energy saving legislation affects both Spring Hill, FL residents and HVAC companies, like Senica Air. We will help you stay up to date with the latest information, and provide you with high quality service if you decide to make energy efficient changes to your home or building.
